Scottish Societies

Scottish Cultural Society of Ft. Wayne: Founded in 1986, the purpose of The Scottish Cultural Society is to promote and celebrate Scottish culture and heritage in Indiana. The society provides a variety of activities for its members and the community at large. We are proud to sponsor the Indiana Highland Games.

Scottish Society of Greater Bloomington: Was founded to provide a means for individuals of Scottish ancestry or interest to experience and participate in activities that celebrate the Scottish culture.

Scottish Society of Indianapolis: Since 1983, The Scottish Society of Indianapolis has been a place for people to celebrate Scottish heritage, history and culture. The Society is diverse and composed of genealogists, historians, re-enactors, pipers, dancers and those who simply love and celebrate "things Scottish."

Scottish Society of Louisville: The Scottish Society of Louisville was established as a nonprofit organization in the spring of 1993. The purpose of the Society was to enrich the cultural lives of members and the community in the Kentuckiana area and offer exposure to Scottish heritage and preserve, enhance and foster pride in Scottish ancestry.

Pipe Bands

Fountain Trust Pipe Band: The Fountain Trust Pipe Band is based in Northwest Indiana. Its members are drawn from various parts of Indiana including Indianapolis, Lafayette, Bloomington and Terre Haute, as well as from Western Illinois. The band is made up of both Pipe and Drum Corps players that are not only keen to teach and encourage new members, but also to "stretch" existing members by entering in prestigious competitions at various Scottish Games around the country.

Indiana Caledonia Pipe Band: The Indiana Caledonia Pipe Band was formed in 2004 and is located in the Indianapolis area. The founders of the band wanted to provide an opportunity for pipers and drummers of central Indiana to prepare for and participate in Pipe Band Competitions across the Mid-West and East Coast regions.

Murat Highlanders: Formed in 1949, the Murat Highlanders have been entertaining crowds, large and small, for over a half century. The Highlanders have never entered the very serious world of competition pipe bands, opting instead to remain a parade and performance band.

Southern Indiana Pipes and Drums: The band includes members from Columbus Indiana, Bloomington Indiana, and Greensburg Indiana. Members have a wide range of experience and backgrounds. The band is open to anyone who is genuinely interested in learning and playing bagpipes and drums in a noncompetitive atmosphere.

Colin Grant-Adams: Colin Grant-Adams is a balladeer whose repertoire ranges from the traditional music of Scotland, Ireland and bluegrass music of America, to his highly acclaimed original compositions included on his six recordings.

Highland Reign: Highland Reign, a celtic rock band from Indianapolis, takes the tunes of the old country and breathes a rocking new life into them.

Hogeye Navvy: Hogeye Navvy is an acoustic, shanty-singing band whose repertoire expands to include the traditional music of Ireland, Scotland, England, and North America.
